"I am not a vintage dress"

Random pictures:

Emulating a bat wtf.
In this gorgeous ZARA silk low-back dress with ruched neckline and a braided belt... And ZARA wedges as well.

Is it just me, but whenever I am dressed head to toe in the same label, I feel that I am being boring. -_-

The back of the dress!
Pardon the fat arms, I haven't been going to the gym. :(

We tried out Wendy's!

This was just the medium set-- it was humongous. =/

I got confused, 'cause the Wendy's in Australia sells ice cream; but the US-based Wendy's is actually a fast food joint!

Teeny, who kept on singing the Wendy's advertisement jingle which is aired so often on radio. -_-

Hehehe, Jing looks like a monkey here. :P

I had the 1/4 quarter pounder, it was blah to me. Firstly, there wasn't any cheese in it!! How can burgers not have cheese! Nevertheless, Teeny said that the beef patty is more tender as compared to the ones in McD's. Besides that, I don't really see why it is better than other fast food places. =/

Accompanied Jing to get her driving license done-- her P-license has expired. Oh my gosh, how quickly time has passed, it seems like it was only yesterday that she took driving lessons; and now she is already full-fledged legal driver. T___T
(sorry, currently chatting with Audrey about our age, am a little emo now wtf)

Outfit! Wanted to wear red so that I could put on my new pumps. :D
And the area around the belt/waist is blurred not 'cause it's censored, but my mirror is just really dirty, haha.

Tada, my new pumps! Cream with red trimmings and red suede bows. *loves*
And I think I can wear them for work as well! :)))

Went for bak kut teh since the place to get the license done is in Klang, and we had to have our bak kut teh fix. :P

Yummy bak kut teh! :D

I swear to god, no bak kut teh in the world taste as good as the ones in Klang! Especially the bak kut teh in this shop that we always go back to-- I swear they put drugs in it, 'cause once I have tasted their bak kut teh, I could never go back to the others!!

Meeting up with Jia Meei and Suet.
We went out for loh shee fun! Not helping with my non-gym regime. T___T

This picture is shown because... I AM COCK-EYED IN IT!!!

Haha, wtf I can't get cock-eyed deliberately (y'know how some people can place a finger in the middle of their sight, and can get cock-eyed by drawing their eyeballs towards the finger?), but unknowingly I become this retarded cockeyed monster??? Haih. T_T

With Jia Meei and Suet.
We all took pictures grudgingly, because we were so happily yakking away that we forgot to take any pictures--It wasn't till the end of our day together that we decide to snap some shots for memory's sake!

Which is why I looked so oily in the picture, like a pisang goreng. T__T

Jia Meei, when you see this, have fun in Melbourne aight! :)

Remember you said you will buy some stuff for me? Well, all I'd like are some Red Rock Deli chips (honey soy chicken and sour cream chilli please), Tim Tams (original, thank you), Arnotts famous chocolate chip cookies (that will do), shoes from Bridge Road, waffles from Max Brenner's, hot chocolate from Koko Black, scarfs from Camberwell, mango smoothie from Boost, ox tongue rice from the shop right outside Melbourne Central, Wicked Wings from KFC, any nice clothes, cheap jewelry from Diva...

I'll update you if I think of anything else, HAHAHA! :D :D :D

Oh my god, this has been bugging me for sometime, I really want say something on it.

The term 'vintage' is so over-used.

I browse Malaysian shopping sites/blogs sometimes, and you can't believe the amount of people who claimed that they are wearing/selling vintage clothes! When in fact, they are only selling second hand clothes, or probably wearing clothes with retro prints.

Hmm, maybe the term 'vintage' is not so much over-used, but misused.

According to Wikipedia, vintage clothings are new or second-hand garments originating from a previous era. Therefore, it does not matter whether vintage clothings were pre-worn, the key point is that they were from a 'previous era'. Nevertheless, by technicality, some of the clothes worn/sold on those sites could be classified as vintage considering that they looked like they came from the 90's wtf.

Some interesting vintage clothings' trivia here (all from Wikipedia), generally, to be politically correct, vintage clothes refers to clothing from the 1920s to 1975. Clothing manufactured from 1975 to twenty years ago are called retro clothing, whereas clothing produced more recently is usually called modern or contemporary fashion. Clothes which were produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing.

I have came across so many local shopping sites who sell clothes that I see in Sungei Wang or which could be found in any other mall-- yet labeling them as 'vintage' clothes. Some even go as far as stating that they only sell vintage clothing. -_- There is one site which even called itself "S#$*^%@* Vintage" or something, but surprise surprise, none of the things that they are selling are actual vintage goods. Maybe because the vintage clothing trend is slowly catching on in M'sia, hence these people need to manipulate the term to rope in unknowing buyers. Another phenomenon is people who mistook vintage as being second-hand, and claimed to be selling 'vintage pieces' when in actual fact they are just clothes that they have worn before.

And if you are asking how could I know that they are not vintage pieces-- well, it'd be pretty obvious from the design and the cut of the clothing. Vintage clothing from different eras have the distinctive features and styles of that particular period; and frankly speaking, nothing beats the touch of a piece that has so much history behind it. Some sites which showcase vintage goodies spectacularly are such as : Vintage Lover and SallyJaneVintage.

A quick reference to Urban Dictionary gives a good outlook on vintage items as well:

a type of clothing that is usually only found in vintage shops, goodwills, thrift stores, places like such. these are mainly the ONLY places you can find true 'vintage'.
just because abercrombie sells 'vintage wash' jeans and 'vintage tees' that does NOT mean it's vintage.
Platos closet is NOT vintage, as well.

Just for your information, Plato's closet is a site that sells second hand clothings; which, like what Urban Dictionary mentioned, NOT the same as vintage clothing.

Thus, I am very careful when I introduce my vintage items, or when I sell my clothings online. See here, here, here and here for examples. Only my real vintage goodies are termed so, if not, I will refer to them as vintage-inspired or vintage-looking items. As mentioned in the Urban Dictionary description above, just because certain clothings take on a vintage feel-- as long as they were not produced in previous era, they are not vintage items!

Then there are also people who claimed that they wear vintage clothes-- happily bragging about it, when they are not in anyway vintage! =/ It is a fact, that although people are generally more accepting to the idea of wearing clothes from eons ago, so much that it is becoming a rising trend in M'sia-- you can't deny that it is very difficult to get a hold on vintage clothes in M'sia. Which is why, in general, M'sians don't really wear vintage clothing/items unless they managed to source it from overseas, or they have secret joints which they can dig away, or if they got them online (Examples of some really good sites which sell authentic vintage goods (really gorgeous ones as well, le sigh!): Kuku Vintage and Anouk's Vintage). Some Malaysians who don real vintage goodies and look really good in them are such as Jade, Michelle, Ragga-Muffin etc. :)

Sigh, each vintage piece is truly unique, because not only is there a quirky flamboyance in most of these clothing, they just have so much history behind them, each one tells a story. Whenever I am in a thrift shop or an op shop, and am surrounded by all those beautiful pieces, each with a tale etched in the sleeves, the hem, a collar... There is this sense of curiosity in me, a quiet flame of joy. When I put on a vintage piece, I would imagine the previous owner, and how her story unfolded in the dress. And how my story will go. :) Each vintage piece is not merely a scrap of clothing, it is a cultivation of memories, of tales of passion, of life. Which is why it is quite irksome to me when I see people taint the term. :(

Oooh, wait a minute, another interesting tidbit, I remember reading from somewhere that vintage items could also loosely refer to items of 20 years and above...

If so, I am vintage as well, HAHAHA!

Can someone stop me please, I can't stop binging these 2 weeks. It's meal after meal, snack after snack, and I don't even feel mildly guilty for it. T_T

Went out with the boyfriend for a last-minute nice dinner outing recently. It was a late congratulatory dinner for my success in getting a job offer! Never mind that I was offered the job 3 months ago, I am not going to reject a free meal am I! :P

Now now, I love the mary-janes I had on, but when the boyfriend saw my shoes along with the opaques I was wearing, he said I looked like those padfoot cats. Y'know, those cats with snowy white paws.

WTFFFFF. -_______-
Men and fashion! Sigh.

Just want to show this gorgeous satin cuff I got recently. Love those gold links on it!

The boyfriend, when he saw the gold cuffs on the bangle-- "is that a lizard?"
WTFFFFF. I have to repeat myself, men and fashion!! -_____________-

We went to Moussandra, which I first read from -- it turned out that the place is really really near to the boyfriend's workplace; in fact, he has been there during his lunch break! Since the boyfriend is much much better in navigations than I am, he brought me there-- I would never have been able to find the place on my own. :(

Pictures of the place:

Authentic-looking heavy wooden menu plate. Emphasis on heavy!
If I had to lift this menu everytime before I eat, I would never put on weight, 'cause all the fats will burn away just from the act wtf.

The interior of the place is slightly rustic, with knick-knacks strewn all over. It has this endearing rickety sort of charm, which keeps your eyes wandering to see what else would catch your eyes. :)

Like this thing on the ceiling, for example.

I was skimming the place up and down, trying to absorb the sights, and I saw this random racket-like thing on top of me! It turns out that it is used to to grill meats-- simply put the meat inside and start hovering it on top of a fire. :D

Really really creative candles bedecking every table-- as each freshly inserted candle melts, its trickling wax will create an entirely unique canopy of colorful wax! No single candle stand looks the same.

It's rather mesmerizing to watch each drip of wax making new forms on the candle stand. :P

Watching art in the making, haha.

The boyfriend said that we should do this candle thingy in our house next time; I just nodded layan-ly. Deep down, I knew it wasn't possible, because knowing how clumsy I am, if we have candles lying around, I would knock them over, and burn the house down. No more house left. T_______T

The boyfriend with his new Hugo Boss glasses, the vainpot went to 10 shops before he found one that he could 'settle for'. -___-

Hello, I am your neighbourhood sexy librarian!

Sigh, actually, I need new glasses. My current glasses are all bent and out of shape because I slept on it recently. T____T In fact, it is perched all wrong on my nose-- I see things lopsided now. T___T

By the way, the power of my shortsightedness is really really bad-- I am nearly blind without contacts/glasses. :( It's all my fault, 'cause when I was 10, when I first started realizing that I couldn't see the scribbles on the blackboard from afar, I just ignored it and refused to tell my mom. I was convinced that I would be super ugly with spectacles, and I'd rather die than get one. Over the years, my eyesight just kept on deteriorating, and in the end, I couldn't put it off any longer. By then, my eyesight was already... let's just say I am blind as a bat. :'(

Moussandra is most renowned for its tapas-- in fact, it's the oldest tapas place in KL, and it serves arguably the best tapas in town. :P

Deep fried mozzarella cheese sticks with special anchovy sauce.

Grilled prawns on a stick with asparagus and olives and garlic mayonnaise dressing.

My chicken souvlaki.

Check out the handle of the kebab stick!!! I felt I was a Roman gladiator wtf.

I really couldn't resist!
And with the ribbon and my hair in a bun, I looked like those olden days Chinese Hero brandishing a sword, HAHAHA.

The boyfriend's moussaka-- baked cheese with layers of eggplant and ground lamb underneath.

I don't take lamb AT ALL, I can't stand the smell/taste of it, but the boyfriend kept on threatening to kiss me as he steadily ate his dish. T_____T

The boy with the smallest eyes in the world.

Self-indulging pictures! Am trying to play-up my outfits recently, am bored with wearing dresses non-stop, meh.

Eee, the boyfriend's car is filled with litter! =/

It was all impromptu, though we have talked about it offhandedly. Then on Saturday night, it was more a simple matter of:

... and hence on Sunday you see us rushing in and out of our rooms, realizing that we weren't prepared for a trip to a water park at all. -__-

Firstly, we realized we didn't have any waterproof make-up!! God be damned if we are going to Sunway Lagoon bare-faced wtf. Haha, actually, when I was Gold Coast's water theme park, I didn't wear any make-up; but I got influenced by my sisters who were aghast when I suggested that we could just do without it.

Then we found out we didn't have any sunblock! Except for this really sad looking expired bottle with has white liquid-paper looking gunk in it. And I have had plenty nasty experiences with having a tad too much fun in the sun, and ended up looking like sakai's favorite sister ok. T_T

This was rectified by making a swift trip to the nearest Guardian's, retrieving the sunblock with the highest SPF (130) we could find. As for the waterproof make-up, we decided to make-do with my allegedly waterproof smudgy (coincidently it's supposed to be smudge-proof) MAC gel eyeliner.

And not to mention, I had to make a frenzy-like trip to the facial place to look for my necklace! =/

By the time we reached Sunway Lagoon, it was wayyyy past lunchtime, and it was drizzling. T_T

Rain or shine, we were determined to have fun. :P

Discussing strategies to not let the sun get the better of us wtf. I told myself, NEVER EVER would I let myself become dark again!

Remember those waxy paper wristbands we used to wear in theme parks??? Now we are forced to strap on these grotesque rubber watch-like bands, yucks.

However, when we were striding through the entrance, it turned out that by beeping the watch thingy on the sensor scan, the barrier would open and allow us in, so we were like "WAHHHHH, so clever!" Hahahaha.

Stupid Sunway Lagoon mascot. Why is a bird a water park mascot anyway!!! Shouldn't it be a dolphin or a turtle???? Unless it's a kingfisher wtf.

The reason why I am so pissed at Sunway Lagoon is 'cause the place is a freaking rip-off!! I remember that Sunway Lagoon used to have entry passes for single parks-- i.e. water park or dry park. Now you HAVE to purchases passes for both parks-- even if you only plan to visit one! So stupid. They just want to cheat money, RAWR.

Dancing on the escalator, hee. Why does my face looked like that, I feel like slapping myself. -_-

Getting overexcited with my dance moves wtf. I was wearing bikini bottoms underneath, so it really isn't anything! But I like to practice censorship for fun. Just like the government wtf.

Sisters! :)
I am sorry that my nostrils are so big you could even see what I am thinking in my brain.

Plotting to squeeze everything into one single locker, 'cause we are cheapskates like that (those are paid lockers). :P
Of course we should have known better to bring 4 big bags then. -___-

Trying to close the locker door after squashing everything in HAHAHAHA.

OMG why do I look so short here!! T___T
I am barely 2 inches shorter than Jing, but why is the difference so glaring here. T____T

I was wearing a top over my swim suit, whereas Jing had shorts on with her bikini-- Teeny: "eh why both of you yin and yang", hahaha.

Halfway through the day I felt like ripping my bikini off 'cause Jing told me that I have worn it before on NYE. T___T I don't want to sound like a brat, but I have quite a few bikinis sitting at home, all brand new with tags attached, I wish I could have given them a chance. T___T

I bought that bikini for Teeny! It has her favorite SKULLS on it. :D

In fact, it has this really adorable skull applique on it (sorry la, I don't like boring things), but she covered it with her babydoll, boo.

Oh gosh, I never realized how fair my body is! T__T
So now I need to get a tan job which only involves my body-- sans limbs and face; what kind of fate is this!

Haha, it's a sisterly thing-- we both had that ugly puckering thing going on. -_-

Titanic wtf.

I think my mom would fly off the handle if she realized we spent precious time in the wet park camwhoring. =/

Disregarding the fact that I wished I wore another bikini that day, I still absolutely love this bikini from Milk and Honey. It's damn adorable right! :D

Hahaha, I felt like I was in Sports Illustrated wtf.

In the car park, after refreshing (read: pounding on the make-up, haha) ourselves in the car.

The car was a whirlwind of activities k, us dolling up using the rearview mirror, sideview mirror, compact mirror... Sharing make-up, and asking to pass the nearest eyelash curler, haha!

But not bad right, my efforts despite doing up my make-up in the dark ('cause we were in the gloomy car park) and in a cramped confined space? :P

HAHAHHA stupid Teeny! Why was she cracking her knuckles!! Bodybuilder. Weightlifter. HAHAHAHA.

All in all, I had happy fun. Trying to avoid our make-up melting an all, HAHAHA.
BUT, my whole body is damn itchy now. T___T
I suspect the water in Sunway Lagoon is horrendously filthy (I should have gathered so from the murky-looking water T_T), and every part of my body has been itching for the past 2 days. T___T
Even my butt is itchy ok. How I miss those days when I was 5 and I won't get dirty looks for scratching my bum WTF.

Ending with my favorite picture of the day,

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAH damn retarded this pic!
(Teeny blissfully taking a picture, while an innocent bystander like me saw a ghost (i.e. Jing wtf))

update: Jing herself also damn scared by how she looked like in the pic, she said like saw ghost. HAHA!
