Indulgent moments.

Remember I mentioned here that I have gained weight? Here is why!

Though my weight gain was mostly due to me starting work, it didn't help that when I went back home for a 1-week break, I ate like a pig! T__T The parents were most willing to overload me with goodies, so was the boyfriend. And Jing was most accommodating in accompanying me on binging sessions. T_T During the week, often I would be so stuffed after dinner that I will claim to not want to eat for the next week, and 2 hours later, I would ask, "What's for supper?" wtf.

Anyway, here is one example of a typical indulgent dinner of mine. T_T

In the car with Jing, on the way to dinner at Oversea restaurant in KL.

Jing's lips looked so pale here!!! Mad woman, she absolutely adores it when her lips look pale!! It's her obsession. -_-

The dinner was supposed to be my make-up birthday dinner. :)

The calorie culprits!

Four seasons!

It's an atypical version of Four Seasons, 'cause of the 'fish'! The 'fish' is made out of various types of vegetables, chicken, mussels, prawns, baby octopuses etc, and then shaped into a fish.

Peas as its eyes, HAHA.

Roasted suckling pig!

But not your typical old fashioned suckling pig as well...

'Cause it comes in 2 styles:

With yummy curry (and steamed buns to go with it)...

And glutinous rice on the other side!

I really loved this dish! But my jaw went agape when I found out it cost around RM250 for the platter. :/ Jing and I started patting the pig head and went "Chanel pig, Chanel pig", HAHHAHA. Jing was absolutely aghast at its price, 'cause she feels the money is better churned into Topshop wtf. She felt as if she was eating a skirt HAHAHA.

Abalone, which my dad brought to the restaurant himself, 'cause it's apparently some A-grade abalone that he has been saving up for an apt occasion. Such as my birthday. :P

We ate the abalone in its unadulterated form, no sauce or condiments or anything! My dad said that way we can savor the abalone in its purest form. I thought it tasted like fishball. T__T

Very very very very good prawns. The prawns are fried with thick soya sauce and a hint of honey, but omg, you just need to dab a little of the sauce and lick it off your fingers, you'll know it's good stuff!

In fact, the sauce is so good that the prawn shell is the best part of the dish! 'Cause you can suck the sauce off the prawn shell. I know it sounds disgusting, but it really was damn syok! :) But if people didn't know any better, they will think my dad is really mean to us, 'cause he kept on shoving prawn shells onto our plates, HAHAHA.

And don't laugh at me, but at first, when my dad told me to eat the prawn shells, I thought he really meant to EAT them! So I was furiously chomping on the shells, trying to swallow; when he scolded me, "To suck la! Not to eat and swallow!!" FML

Probably chewing on prawn shells. T_T

Jing hanging off her chair like a monkey.

Feather headband, lovingly brought back from the States! :P

'Sao Min'! Which is loosely translated into 'birthday noodles'... Or rather, 'longevity noodles'!

The theory behind it is that the noodles are very very long, so it represents longevity. I told Jing that she is not supposed to bite on the noodles, 'cause if she did, she would be cutting my life short! HAHA. It was fun to see her choke on her noodles in an attempt to not break any strand of noodles, HEHEHE.

So stuffed, and very conscious of my tummy! T__T

This was obviously before my break-out. :(

Left to right: Auntie Jean (mom's best friend), Mommy, Daddy, and hui wen's nostrils wtf.
Daddy loves his wine!

I love pearls and blings! My mom was clucking her tongue when she saw the layers of jewelry I had on. :P

Unsuccessful outfit picture! With a very unglam take-away plastic bag (we ordered too much food!)
And that's Grandma Hoe there. :)

Nom Nom Nom.

Yesterday, the boyfriend made me go through one minute of silence + prayers on the phone for Manchester United's play-offs in the Champion League. -___________-

The boyfriend called me while I was eating a plum (my last resort to regaining nice skin T__T), and he told me that I sounded very greedy 'cause I was chewing really loudly.

The thing I know, he asked for us to talk online instead of on the phone 'cause he has something to show me.

When I logged onto MSN, he sent me this link:

And told me:

"Bee, this is you eating plum!"

To cut the suspense short wtf, this is what awaits you at the other side of the link:

Since we are on the topic of NOM NOM NOM wtf, one thing I really love about my relationship is that we always try to find new places to eat! Who says bread and romance can't co-exist wtf.

Recently, the boyfriend decided to be adventurous, and brought me to try Indian vegetarian food! I will have you know that I am a carnivore through and through, and a meal without meat scares me wtf.

But here comes Saravanaa Bhavan, in Telawi, Bangsar! It's right below My Dress Room, so you can go do a little shopping after your meal, how perfect is that. :D

Indian tea. It tasted something like teh tarik, but with a twist; reason being, fresh cow milk was used in it!

Nasi Briyani with cottage cheese in it! The boyfriend's order, of course. I swear, that boy can just live on a diet of cheese alone. -_-

Fried curried mutton with garlic. Or should I say, "mutton' wtf. It's vegetarian, remember! :P

Curry "mutton".

Red chilli "chicken".

The amazing thing is that all these dishes really did look (and sort of tasted) like meat! And it's very delicious too, I love the aromatic spices... Mmm!

That said, I actually have a phobia of vegetarian food. The only time when I went on a vegan diet was 'cause I prayed for the boyfriend to pass his exams, and I promised God that I would go on a vegan diet for 1 week. T_T Mine was a really strict diet: no egg, no sauces which was cooked with meat, no garlic even! Read here for why certain vegetarian diets don't allow garlic (and other root vegetables). It was hell for me... And 'cause I had no choice but to consume more carbs then (vegetables alone don't keep me full), I put on like 2 kgs after that week! T___T

But anyway, fret not, my loves! One vegetarian meal won't kill you wtf. At least if you ever suddenly feel like being holy and to have vegetarian food, you know where to go. :P

But be careful when you eat spicy foods, 'cause your lips might become big and pouty WTF.

Sugar high.

I am ashamed to tell you all this, but...

Y'know fondue? Yummy, sticky, warm chocolate fondue. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think one of the more renowned places which serves chocolate fondue would have to be Haagen Daaz.

...well, I think my sisters and I have been planning since 2 years ago to go try out Haagen Daaz chocolate fondue WTF.

'Cause it's not cheap at all! Or rather, we are too cheap wtf. But recently, Jing (thanks to Sam) managed to snag some Haagen Daaz vouchers, so we thought what better timing to finally realised our liquid (chocolate) dreams wtf.

Our criteria for dressing up that day = girlie and colors, 'cause we concluded that desserts = happiness. :P

Jing. (who took off her socks after that when she went to see her boyfriend, HAHA)

As you can see, we were clad in red and pink, very girlie colors ok! *tries to convince*

Vintage pink and green polka dotted top with zig-zag collar and hem details: Online
Dust blue lapel cropped vest: Thrifted

Denim bandeau skirt with exposed zipper: Topshop

Cream and pink/lavender gradient corsage: Forever 21

Pearl cuff: Diva

Mini pale pink polka dot bow hairpin: Equip, Australia

Tan and turqoise bow maryjanes: Singapore

I actually got the vest from Naomi, from Tea & Sympathy, agesss ago in a junkyard sale. :) At that time, Tea & Sympathy was still in the midst of setting up! *nolstagic*

At Haagen Daaz:

Going through the menu to make sure that there are no inflationary impact on the fondue since the last time we check WTF.

HAHHAHA Jing is furiously fanning herself here! Wait, scratch that, Jing is perpetually furiously fanning herself! Goodness knows what is wrong with that woman, she has just been feeling hot and thirsty for the entire weekend that I was back. -__-

Staying cool and calm wtf.

TADAAA the chocolate fondue!!

When the waiter brought it over, we looked at each other worriedly:

"Shit, it's really quite huge la, I don't think we can finish it!"

We were wondering why there are 2 compartments of the chocolate sauce, when we realised that it's one compartment for us each, for hygiene purposes!

But we are one, so we threw caution to the wind, and digged into both compartments like a pack of wolves wtf.

Mini scoops of ice cream: Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream.

I know I know, the flavors sound really boring, but rest assured that they are AWESOME! Especially the strawberry. And the cookies and cream. And the.. Ok you get my point wtf. There are altogether 16 scoops: i.e.: 8 scoops for each of us!

Which is not a lot wtf.

Sliced bananas (yuckk!). strawberries, apples.

THIS is the way fruits should be consumed! :P

Calorie corner: Chocolate chip cookies, pound cake and biscotti sticks.
(the best corner *heart*)

In seventh heaven! :)

Hahaha Jing kept on accidentally dropping her food chunks/slices into the chocolate sauce, and they would be completely doused with chocolate sauce! Can you guess what was she holding wtf.

Swirling ice cream scoops in the chocolate sauce.
I didn't like it when the chocolate hardens and become a shell outside the scoop of ice cream though!

My brother's teeth looked like this when he was 8 years old wtf.

Hahahha right before we discovered the splotches of chocolate on Jing's arm and mouth, she was just telling me that she felt really classy having fondue as high tea! When I pointed out with a snigger the mess she was creating on herself, she blurted, "F my life!" HAHAHHA

Oh ya! Remember we were thinking that the fondue is too much for the both of us?

*sweeps hands nonchalantly wtf*

Easy breezy! No match for the Hoe sisters. :P

But I have to admit, we didn't touch the banana slices. We don't do bananas!
Sounds so wrong. T___T

And everyone everyone! I am looking for Culprit No.1! If you see this girl below, please catch her and throw her into a tub of quicksand wtf.

Name: Hoe Hui Jing
Age: 20

I really wanted to kill her on the spot! Cook her in boiling chocolate sauce wtf. But luckily I was on a sugar high (too. much.chocolate!) so I was in a more forgiving mood! She has promised to bring my bag for professional cleaning. T___T

Anyway, tragic hazards aside, the chocolate fondue costs around RM65.90 (if I am not mistaken), and should be just nice for 3-4 normal people! ('cause the Hoe sisters are not normal T__T)! So that would come up to about RM20 per pax? Pretty decent for a high tea for a few girlfriends! :) You will not regret the sugar-induced girlish giggles and excited chatter. :D

That said, when Jing and I were leaving Haagen Daaz, we saw a couple who ordered the fondue as well, but did not finish it. We gave them a haughty "why so lousy?" look on our way out, HAHAHAHA.
