Brunch with the boyfriend:


Ok, fine, the pasta gave it away. Who eats cream pasta for breakfast!


We woke up late and went to have lunch at Decanter. I have blogged about Decanter here before, I really love the place! :)




Looking a little sickly 'cause I had to wake up before noon wtf.


Our food:


The boyfriend's spaghetti carbonara.




My char kuey teow. Which is a really random lunch for me, considering that Decanter is more of a cafe place! But my cravings struck. :P

Mid Valley, which I tremendously regretted!


'Cause the moment we arrived, the boyfriend led me to the Chinese herbal tea/medicine shop on the basement level. T__T


The reason being, I told the boyfriend that I was coming down with a sore throat-- so he insisted for me to drink the bitter herbal tea 'Wong Lou Kat', which is supposed to effectively ease heatiness! What you don't understand is that if you look in the dictionary for 'the most bitter substance', you will see 'Wong Lou Kat' there wtf.

I was furiously trying to get out of it, by telling him that my sore throat was very mild (didn't work), that I have natural healing abilities (didn't work as well), and that I was just joking with him that I have sore throat (he patted my head and told me 'Nice try' wtf). T___T

He promised me sweets if I drink the tea. Do I look like a 3 year old!!
I later counter-bargained it to a purchase from Topshop, HEHE.



Look at the Wong Lou Kat medicinal tea! Looks SO FOUL right. T___T

(Btw, the black liquid is the disgusting medicinal tea. The small bowl on the side contains chrysanthemum tea to wash down the Wong Lou Kat)




The boyfriend giving a come hither look... to the bitter tea! He kept on trying to convince me that it is not bitter AT ALL. Liar liar pants on fire wtf.

I played cheat: as you can see, my bowl still had a lot of the powder remnants in it-- the powder is what that causes the bitterness! :/


Anyway, I hope you guys will never ever have the chance to drink this bitter tea; but in the event that you do, here's the tip: drink it in one swift gulp, no breathing, no tasting, not thinking wtf.

And remember to not swirl the liquid to the sides or the back of your tongue!!

Doesn't this remind you of the diagram above WTF. I couldn't bear to contain my tongue in my mouth after drinking the foul liquid, 'cause I swear, the bitterness just lingers everywhere!

I kept on shooting the boyfriend the evil eye, haha.




He rewarded me with some sweet 'lo han guo' drink after that, but even the sweet drink couldn't take away the bitterness! In fact, the drink didn't taste sweet at all to me, it was bitter.

That is how bad the Wong Lou Kat tea is! The bitter taste stays with you for eternity. *dramatic*
