Take charge of your life.

The weather is absolutely scorching recently, arghhh! As a result, I find myself opting for fuss-free outfits. Which are usually made up of ratty-tatty shorts, heh.

Wore this for my monthly manicure/pedicure session (YES, with gel nails, it's possible for manicures to become a monthly occurence!).

New nail color. I usually go to the manicurist with a rough idea of what colors I want to go for (FUCHSIA! YELLOW! ORANGE! MINT GREEN!), but I've been so busy lately that I didn't give any thought to it. So I ended with a shade that matches my top. *predictable*

Outfit:

Dark blush ruffled top: Holiday in Bangkok
Faded denim shorts: Cotton On
Pale pink belt with silver engraved buckle: Forever New, Australia
Rings: Bazaar/ Gift from Teeny
Aviators: Rayban
Pale pink leather sandals: Mom's
Bag: Celine

*****************************************************

I do get quite a bit of emails asking me about working in Singapore, about audit life, about CPA Australia, and even occasionally about my decision to study a Business course. So I know that education and career is something that plagues your minds.

Trust me, I've been a freshgraduate once, and I know how confused one may be when you graduate and have to step into the real world.
Where do I go next? What should I do? What do employers look for? Should I continue to further my studies?

In fact, even when I was working, I still asked myself these questions, on what do I move to next, toying with the idea of doing a postgraduate course etc... Such questions are necessary; they keep you in check!

Hence, I've something here that might interest you all!

postgradasialive!, the biggest postgraduate education fair in Malaysia is back again this year, with a first ever tie-in with GRADMalaysialive! 2011, the first career fair of its kind to feature the top graduate recruiters in the country. postgradasialive! is now in its seventh year and is headlined by the most prestigious names in higher education from all over the world.

If you ask me, I really think this is a wonderful chance for both education and job seekers to seek opportunities and advice from the experts! Whether you are a freshgraduate, going to graduate, already in the workforce but is thinking of doing a postgraduate course or even switching fields, there will be something for you.

You can check out postgradasialive! Facebook page and GRADMalaysia's Facebook page. In fact, I strongly recommend for you to register yourself at the official event page, because, what is that? IF YOU REGISTER,YOU STAND A CHANCE TO WIN AN iPAD 2! :O :O :O

They have some interesting competitions going on as well, Ipod Shuffles given out weekly etc., so be sure to check out the page.

Of course, the most important thing is not the contests or the attractive prizes, but to really have your education and/or career in mind, and make way to the fair to get some insight. Personally, I think it would be utmost beneficial to fresh/would-be graduates to attend the fair. Say what you want, but I think that working for someone (at least for awhile) is seriously one of the best things that you can do for yourself. You will not only learn tremendously, technical-wise; but you'll also learn the 'soft' side of things: interaction, politics, EQ, liaison, humility, persuasion,... And the most enlightening thing perhaps, is the things that you'll learn about yourself. Which is also why I highly encouraged Teeny to start working despite having numerous alternatives, because yes, work is shit, pay is shit, but these shit build you up to be an excellent individual. Even working for 1-2 years will help shape your work ettiquette and attitude for life. Hand on heart.

Teeny is quite keen to attend the fair as well, I would be accompanying her in that instance. Really hope you guys will take charge of your life beyond tertiary education, and start thinking of how you want to carve your career path. So I shall catch you there? :)

Gotta agree with you on this one. Those 'shit' do make you stronger as an individual.

Btw, are you still in audit? just curious.

So i remembered you had this post on one of your bangkok trips where you went to this super cool bar. And i wanted to know what was this bar called coz i'm going there over the weekend. Did a search on your blog with the keyword "bangkok" hoping that it'll narrow down to the bangkok trip.Guess what? every single one of your post has the word "Bangkok" it it. LOL
Needless to say I couldn't find that post. -____-
